About the Somali Agrifood Fund
The Somali AgriFood Fund is a seed capital matching investment fund focused on driving diaspora investments into Somali agriculture and rural businesses. The AgriFood Fund was intended for project sizes from $20,000 to $250,000 with the AgriFood Fund contributing between $8,000 and $100,000.
Shuraako is the Fund Manager for the Somali AgriFood Fund.
The fund matched investment amounts from diaspora or other investors. The investment structure included:
- 20% owner’s contribution
- 40% diaspora or local investment
- 20% diaspora
- 20% IFAD AgriFood seed capital (does not require repayment)
